Community Engagement
The N/WBPCR Community Engagement team works to coordinate with the Battery Park City community to conduct resiliency briefings for community awareness, attend tenant/resident association meetings, and provide informative updates at public forums such as Manhattan Community Board 1 meetings and our Community Advisory Committee meetings.
We conduct outreach by providing physical and digital materials to residents and Battery Park City community members, tabling at community events, and host drop-in sessions for community members to come by and speak with the project team directly. Our team has a bicycle that we bring around the project area to share awareness during site visits and events.

Construction Advisory Committee
The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) was created to serve as an ongoing vehicle for information-sharing, bridging the gap between the community, BPCA, and the project team. This group is comprised of key stakeholders, such as property managers, BPC residents, Community Board 1 members, representatives from our public schools, and others through invitation from the project team. These groups are able to provide valuable feedback on the impacts of the BPCR Project. The CAC will collaborate with BPCA and the project team to provide recommendations and problem-solve community construction impacts. CAC meetings are hosted bi-monthly. All meeting presentations can be found here:

Environmental Monitoring
Manhattan Community Board 1 has brought on Lawra Dodge of Excel Environmental Resources Inc. to provide independent environmental monitoring for the duration of NWBPCR project work. A deeply trusted name in the community, Lawra and her team have experience conducting independent community monitoring on large-scale construction projects across lower Manhattan. Lawra and her team will be conducting random visits to monitory site conditions twice a month. Reports related to these visits will be shared with the public on a consistent basis.

-
Air, noise, and vibration monitors are active for the full duration of working hours (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday – Friday) of the Project.
-
Live data from monitors will give the Project team real time updates on conditions in the field.
-
Monthly reports detailing environmental conditions will be publicly accessible.
-
The Project follows all federal, state, and local guidelines related to these monitors.
